Account Executive - Employee Benefits

Location: Remote (California-based)

Travel: Required for client visits within CA (Walnut Creek, Sacramento, San Francisco, Phoenix)

Salary: $145,000 base + bonus Direct Hire

Overview

Seeking an experienced Employee Benefits professional to manage a book of mid-to-large group clients and lead strategic health & welfare initiatives. This remote role requires California market expertise and the ability to meet clients in person across the state.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor for Employee Benefits clients.
  • Lead renewals, negotiate with carriers, and develop benefit strategies.
  • Deliver all service components including open enrollment, compliance updates, and vendor coordination.
  • Analyze claims, stop-loss data, and market trends to guide client decisions.
  • Maintain strong CA carrier relationships and stay current on regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with internal service teams to ensure accurate, timely deliverables.

Qualifications

  • 7-12+ years in Employee Benefits consulting or brokerage.
  • Valid California Life, Accident & Health license.
  • Strong knowledge of CA medical and ancillary markets.
  • Experience with fully insured, self-funded, and level-funded plans.
  • Solid understanding of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel for client meetings in
